In 2021, I returned to the practice of ceramics, building handmade studies that initially reflect the relationship of ceramics with the design of domestic objects and the ritual of food preparation and consumption. In my specific case, this relationship is manifested mainly through my appreciation for tea, and the chawan, the container used for its consumption in Japanese culture. I also created some pieces based on drawings of sculptures that I made when I stopped making ceramics in 1999. The three-dimensional maps of South America, Brazil, and the state of Minas Gerais are studies from recent ideas for masks to be used in performance. The formation of this still life in the photographic image happened spontaneously, and I see in it a potential for new works in installation and photography.
