Gift: attempts to sweeten the population of a city,
video installation, 2003.

 

Gift: attempts to sweeten the population of a city is a multi-channel video installation in which I throw honey to the lake that supplies drinking water to the city of Stuttgart during several occasions, wishing that my action will sweeten its population. This symbolical act was made in reference to the recent fears of chemical weapons being used in warfare, and my questioning of what could be my mission as an artist and the reach of my work. The project is presented in a video installation which consists of a  group of small wall-mounted screens, each one showing a different part of the video registering the performance.
