Description of our garden..., architectural model, 2020 - 2021.
 

Description of our garden in the beautiful harbour city of Sydney in the state of New South Wales, Australia, photographed in natural light,
on sunny and dismal days, during the 2020 COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic lockdown, in three parts.

The autoethnographic project Description of our Garden... is an exploration of our relationship with nature, using the image of the garden as a metaphor for the planet, and how the coronavirus pandemic has forced us to stop and rethink our individual priorities and responsibilities (in the garden), and collective ones (on the planet). The project refers to my artistic interest in nature, gardening and past scientific travels and explorations, including their representations. The project has three parts: an architectural model of my garden in Sydney, a photographic installation with all the 150 individual plants in my garden, and an artist’s book.
