Fate, video, 5 minutes, 2001.

 

Faith and Fate are two short videos in which I make an analogy between illegal immigration and my work as an artist. 

 

Fate makes reference to the falsification of documents by immigrants, and to the commercial and entertaining aspects of a museum. This work is
an undercover trip inside Tate Modern in London. The character in the video visits the museum without going into the galleries to see the artworks.
His is like a visit to a shopping centre. The only artworks he sees are the ones in the museum shop, in the form of printed materials and merchandise.
